Congratulations to Matthew Sykes, a Deaf Canoe Slalom Athlete
The Ulster Deaf Sports Council would like to congratulate Matthew for being awarded the Disability Sports Person of the Year by the Antrim Borough Council. Matthew collected his award at a dinner ceremony on Saturday 25th February 2012.
Matthew has worked hard and has produced excellent performances in the past year and as a result the Ulster Deaf Sports Council nominated him for this award. We are delighted for Matthew and we wish him well in future competitions.

Belfast Deaf United FC through to the Semi-Finals of the British Deaf Cup
Belfast Deaf United remains on course to retaining the British Deaf Cup after a superb performance, beating Fulham Deaf 3-2 in London on Saturday 28th February. Goals from Richard Dougherty, Eamon Byrne and Brian Babb and a fantastic team effort was the key to beating Fulham, one of the top British Deaf Football Clubs.
The Ulster Deaf Sports Council wishes Belfast Deaf United all the best in their Semi-Final encounter against Glasgow Athletic in Liverpool on Saturday 24th March.
